KARACHI: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has highlighted the decisive role played by Sindh Rangers in restoring peace, curbing terrorism and controlling crime in Karachi, calling the force a symbol of discipline and professionalism.

Mr Naqvi said the Rangers had earned a distinguished reputation across the country through their consistent performance and sacrifices. He recalled that the force created history by playing a decisive role in eliminating terrorism, crime and unrest in Karachi.

He noted that in close coordination with the Sindh police, the Rangers dismantled criminal networks in the Katcha (riverine) areas, significantly improving the law and order situation across the province. Due to these sustained efforts, Karachi has witnessed a revival of commercial, industrial and cultural activities.

Referring to national and regional security, Mr Naqvi said the Rangers also played a key role during the May 2025 operations at Bunyan al-Marsous, where they worked alongside the Pakistan Army to counter Indian aggression and monitor hostile movements along international borders.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of the Sindh Rangers, the interior minister acknowledged the sacrifices made in the defence of Pakistan’s internal and external frontiers. He said the force had rendered services beyond Sindh, including deployments in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Islamabad.

He added that recently two wings of the Rangers were deployed in sensitive areas of Balochistan, where personnel were performing their duties with dedication and professionalism under challenging conditions.

Addressing the graduating cadets, Mr Naqvi said the passing-out parade marked the beginning of their responsibilities. He expressed confidence that the young soldiers would uphold the trust of the nation with courage, integrity and commitment.
