
Lahore and other parts of Punjab and Sindh faced severe fog early Saturday, forcing authorities to close multiple motorway sections. Visibility dropped drastically, creating hazardous driving conditions. The Motorway Police said the closures were necessary to protect lives and property.
Authorities reported that the M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, M3 from Lahore to Multan, M4 from Pindi Bhatian to Multan, M5 from Multan to Sukkur, and M11 from Lahore to Sialkot were fully closed. Fog also affected several National Highway sections. Commuters faced delays, and travel disruptions continued throughout the morning.

Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed urged drivers to follow lane discipline strictly. He advised motorists to use fog lights, reduce speed, and maintain safe distance. Officials also recommended daytime travel between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm when visibility is relatively better.
Monitoring teams have been deployed along major routes to manage traffic and ensure safety. Police warned that ignoring safety rules could lead to serious accidents. Citizens were advised to avoid unnecessary travel and contact the Motorway helpline 130 for assistance.

The authorities stressed that fog conditions may continue through the weekend. Commuters are advised to stay updated with traffic alerts and follow safety instructions. Motorway closures will be lifted only when visibility improves and driving becomes safe again.
