Fatima was rushed to the ICU of a private hospital affiliated with the university. According to sources, she jumped from the same location where another student, Owais Sultan, had attempted suicide last month and died after falling from the fourth floor. Fatima’s brother reportedly dropped her off at the university that morning.
Following the incident, the University of Lahore suspended operations indefinitely and locked all entrances. An eight-member inquiry committee, led by retired Dean of the Faculty of Law Muhammad Bilal Khan, has been formed to investigate the incident. Other members include faculty members Dr. Mughis, Dr. Ahmad Bilal, Farukh Hafeez, Dr. Ayesha Mahmood, Ali Aslam, and two classmates, Muhammad Amir and Ismahan Ramzan.
