Netflix announces Enola Holmes 3 for 2026

Published on: January 8, 2026 12:40 PM

Netflix has confirmed that the third installment of its popular mystery franchise, Enola Holmes, will release in 2026. The announcement came on Wednesday, four years after the last film, generating excitement among fans of the series.

Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her role as the titular detective, while Louis Partridge returns as Viscount Tewkesbury, who has a clear romantic interest in her. The streaming platform shared a first-look image showing Tewkesbury on one knee presenting a flower to Enola, whose shocked expression has sparked speculation among viewers.

The new film is set on the island of Malta, where Enola will face a case described as “more tangled and treacherous than any she has encountered before.” Netflix teased that her personal and professional ambitions will collide, promising a high-stakes adventure for the young detective.

Henry Cavill will return as Sherlock Holmes, Enola’s older brother and famed detective, alongside Himesh Patel as his partner Dr. Watson. Helena Bonham Carter is reprising her role as the siblings’ mother, Eudoria, while Sharon Duncan-Brewster will play Mira Troy.

Enola Holmes 3 is directed by Philip Barantini, whose crime drama Adolescence received critical acclaim last year. The screenplay is written by Jack Thorne, who also penned the previous two films in the franchise.

The series, based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries novels, has been praised for its blend of mystery, humor, and character-driven storytelling. Fans have long anticipated the continuation of Enola’s adventures, and the latest announcement signals a return to her clever and daring escapades.
