The Elementary and Secondary Education Department had announced winter vacations from January 1 to January 15 in summer zones, and from December 22, 2025, to February 28, 2026, in winter zones. The schools continued to operate in violation of these notifications, prompting PSRA intervention.
On the directions of PSRA Managing Director Javed Iqbal, an inspection committee comprising Assistant Director Syed Faizan Ali Shah and assistant Muhammad Roshaan was constituted to assess compliance with the vacation orders.
The committee inspected several schools in Peshawar district and found that The Educators School Rahatabad Campus, Ittefaq Model School and College, Chamkani, and The Knowledge School, Chamkani, were open during the official winter vacation period.
According to the authority, these institutions had been repeatedly warned to comply with the vacation notifications issued jointly by the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department and PSRA on December 19, 2025. However, the schools failed to adhere to the orders and continued regular operations.

PSRA said strict legal measures will be taken against the violating schools in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority rules and regulations. The authority emphasized that adherence to vacation notifications is mandatory to ensure compliance with education department directives and maintain standard regulatory practices in private institutions. The PSRA has urged other private schools across the province to strictly follow the vacation schedule to avoid penalties.
