The facility was visited by Major General Adnan Sultan, while Aamir Ali Khan, Director General of NADRA Regional Head Office Karachi, briefed officials about the centre’s modern infrastructure and public service delivery system.

Equipped with four one-window counters, the centre has the capacity to process between 120 and 150 tokens daily, ensuring faster and more efficient services for citizens. In addition, specialized facilities include a counter for thalassaemia testing, a Pak-Identity (Pak-ID) counter, a desk for succession certificates, and a self-service counter to further streamline public convenience.

The Malir Cantonment centre is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to expand accessibility for identity documentation and civil registration services. Earlier, the authority had also begun offering CNIC renewal and identity documentation services through selected e-Sahulat franchises across the country.

Addressing public awareness gaps, NADRA spokesperson Shabahat Ali Syed highlighted that while registrations of marriages, divorces, births, and deaths are increasing, overall public reporting of these events remains comparatively low. To improve citizen engagement, NADRA has collaborated with Radio Pakistan to raise awareness about the importance of timely registration of vital life events.

The new centre is expected to reduce waiting times for residents of Malir Cantonment and surrounding areas, while providing a more organized and efficient platform for completing civil documentation.
