Blake Lively is facing a fresh twist in her ongoing legal dispute as newly surfaced messages have added tension to her case involving co-star and director Justin Baldoni. The messages, now part of the lawsuit, have drawn public attention and raised questions about professional boundaries during film productions.
The two worked together on It Ends With Us, adapted from the best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover, a project that attracted massive fan interest before controversy overshadowed its release. While audiences praised the emotional story, reports suggest tensions quietly grew behind the scenes, eventually leading to formal legal action.

According to case documents, messages from April 2023 show Baldoni allegedly contacted Lively’s personal trainer to ask about her weight ahead of filming an intimate scene. However, Baldoni has stated that the inquiry related solely to his physical limitations and concern about safely performing the required lift during filming.
Lively later described the exchange as deeply upsetting and claimed it affected her emotionally, especially as it occurred shortly after she had given birth. In private remarks now cited in the lawsuit, she reportedly referred to Baldoni as “an actual donkey,” expressing frustration over what she viewed as insensitive conduct.

Meanwhile, Lively’s legal team has labeled the alleged request inappropriate and unnecessary, arguing it crossed professional boundaries on set. Baldoni continues to deny wrongdoing, maintaining that he never intended to shame his co-star and insists the issue has been misunderstood within the legal dispute.
