Northern Pakistan is experiencing severe disruption as heavy snowfall continues to hit Murree, Tirah, Chilas, Quetta, and surrounding areas, leaving roads blocked and hundreds of tourists and residents stranded. Rescue and relief operations are underway to assist affected communities and ensure safety.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Amir Khattak, visited multiple snow-hit areas in Murree, including Chatta Mor, Baadiyan, Jheeka Gali, and Mall Road, overseeing snow clearance efforts. He stated that while the situation is under control, slippery roads are causing significant traffic challenges towards Islamabad.

Traffic police and district administration have deployed additional personnel to guide visitors, while heavy machinery works to clear blocked roads. Rescue teams remain on site to maintain access, ensuring vehicles and pedestrians can move safely despite challenging conditions.
Snowfall resumed in Murree later, prompting closure of entry points from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Communication networks in certain areas have been disrupted, complicating coordination for rescue operations, while residents and tourists were advised to exercise extreme caution.

In Balochistan, the Pakistan Army conducted extensive rescue and restoration efforts, assisting hundreds of stranded passengers in Zhob and reopening the Alouddin Pass for light vehicles. Similarly, PDMA teams safely evacuated affected people in snowbound districts.
Heavy snow in Chilas forced the Karakoram Highway to close, trapping numerous passengers, while 65 people were rescued in Khyber. Rescue operations are also active in Swat, Malam Jabba, Kalam, and Astore, with teams working tirelessly to ensure safety amid road closures and electricity outages.
