Farhan, Abrar shine in ICC T20 rankings

India’s white-ball stars surged in the latest ICC T20I rankings ahead of the Men’s T20 World Cup. Abhishek Sharma strengthened his grip as the world’s top batter. Pakistani players, including Sahibzada Farhan and Abrar Ahmed, maintained top positions, keeping regional competition intense.

Sharma rose to 929 points after scoring two half-centuries in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. He is just two points shy of his career-high 931 rating. England’s Phil Salt follows with 849 points, while India’s Tilak Varma holds third place. Former world No.1 Suryakumar Yadav climbed five spots to seventh after an unbeaten 57-run knock.

Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan held fifth position in batting rankings through consistent performances. Meanwhile, spinner Abrar Ahmed moved up one spot to fifth in bowling rankings. India’s Jasprit Bumrah jumped four places to 13th after taking three wickets in the third T20I against New Zealand.

Varun Chakravarthy retained his No.1 T20I bowler ranking by claiming three wickets across the first two matches. These rankings highlight India’s strong form ahead of their title defence. At the same time, Pakistan’s top-five presence shows they remain highly competitive in world cricket.

The ICC rankings now set the stage for an intense T20 World Cup. Fans can expect fierce contests and exciting performances from both India and Pakistan. The shifts add extra intrigue to the tournament, promising high-stakes cricket action.
