
The Punjab government has announced five consecutive public holidays in Lahore from February 4 to February 8, giving residents a rare extended break filled with religious observance, national remembrance, and cultural celebration.
According to the official schedule, the holidays will begin on February 4 with Shab-e-Barat, followed by a national holiday on February 5 to mark Kashmir Day across the country.

Meanwhile, from February 6 to February 8, the traditional Basant festivities will take place, allowing citizens to enjoy kite flying, cultural events, and social gatherings throughout the city.
During this period, schools, colleges, and government offices will remain closed, enabling families to spend quality time together while participating in Basant celebrations and other planned recreational activities.

At the same time, authorities have emphasized strict safety measures, especially regarding kite flying, as the extended holidays aim to promote culture, entertainment, and public safety together.
