Published on: February 2, 2026 10:15 PM

Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has highlighted the importance of the national polio vaccination campaign. He said this drive, the first after the COVID-19 pandemic, is a critical step toward eradicating the crippling disease.

Bilawal urged parents to vaccinate children under five with polio drops to protect them from lifelong disability. He added that with global polio eradication underway, this campaign marks a decisive moment for Pakistan.

He praised over four crore children being reached by health workers and called them the true heroes of the campaign. Bilawal emphasized that respecting and supporting the millions of volunteers is a shared responsibility of all citizens.

First Lady Asifa Bhutto-Zardari also released a message supporting the campaign. She said vaccinating children under five is the only way to completely eliminate polio from Pakistan. She noted that health workers are visiting homes across the country to administer the drops.
