The chief minister commended the dedication and service of doctors, nurses, administrative staff, trustees and donors, noting that their collective efforts reflected a strong sense of social responsibility and commitment to public welfare. He said Karachi’s reputation as a hub for advanced medical treatment was built on the contributions of such institutions.
Highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships, Mr Shah said these collaborations were essential in areas where the government could not directly provide all services. He specifically appreciated MMI Hospital’s initiative to offer free treatment to children born with hearing impairments, calling it a significant welfare programme.
The chief minister announced that the Sindh government would provide support for machinery and equipment required for the newly inaugurated wards. “The government will continue to back initiatives that promote compassion, excellence and equity in healthcare,” he said, adding that such cooperation was vital for building a healthier Sindh.

He also underscored the importance of education and healthcare as pillars of social development, stating that institutions like MMI not only deliver professional medical care but also support vulnerable communities through welfare programmes.
Mr Shah further recalled his long association with MMI patron Shabbir Dewan and announced that the provincial government would collaborate with the institute on its proposed university project.
