Gurbaz emphasized that he will return to Afghanistan after the upcoming Cricket World Cup and will not participate in PSL 11 matches.
Gurbaz was signed directly by Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the player auction for PSL 11. The franchise confirmed the signing on February 5 via social media, sharing a promotional poster showing Gurbaz in traditional attire against a scenic mountain backdrop. The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

In his video message, the aggressive Afghan opener explained that his decision was driven by personal and professional priorities.
