Commissioner takes notice of plaster collapse at civil hospital

Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi on Saturday has taken notice of the collapse of plaster at the orthopedic operation theater of Civil Hospital Sukkur. The commissioner visited the hospital to assess the situation, accompanied by Medical Superintendent Dr Ahmad Mujtaba Memon and other officials.

The commissioner directed the hospital administration to immediately relocate the 40 bed orthopedic ward to a safe location, expressing concern over the hazardous condition of the ward. The Executive Engineer Health Works has been instructed to conduct a detailed inspection of the hospital building and submit a report. The commissioner also informed the Secretary Health Sindh about the situation and recommended immediate action.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad Khan has handed over cheques of financial assistance to the families of individuals who lost their lives in monsoon-related incidents on behalf of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Government of Pakistan. The deceased include Muhammad Tahir, Khalid, Shahzeb Ali, and Dur Muhammad from various areas of Sukkur district’s katcha areas who lost their lives in the monsoon rains.
