Pakistani religious leaders unite against Imambargah attack, promote national unity

Published on: February 8, 2026 3:55 PM

Media Center, Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan

Leaders of Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, including President Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Senior Vice President Maulana Anwar-ul-Haq, Nazim Aala Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, and others, strongly condemned the suicide attack that took place at an Imambargah in Islamabad. They stated that taking the lives of innocent people and shedding blood is absolutely unacceptable. Those who carry out such attacks in mosques, Imambargahs, or madrassas do not deserve to be called human beings.

The leaders emphasized that such violent acts are equivalent to creating instability in Pakistan. They called for the identification and punishment of the networks involved in this brutal and cruel attack to serve as a deterrent. They also demanded foolproof security arrangements for all mosques, Imambargahs, and madrassas across the country.

Key Message: Unity of the Ummah

  • The Tarlai incident aimed to spread hatred and violence, but the religious leadership neutralized this narrative through timely unity.
  • Anti-Pakistan forces intend to create sectarian divisions, but the National Peace Message Committee exposed the conspiracy.
  • All schools of thought maintained a shared position: Pakistan’s security and stability are non-negotiable.
  • Religious scholars delivered a firm message: peace, tolerance, and inter-sect harmony in the country will not be harmed.
  • A joint session at the national office agreed on a unified strategy against terrorism.
