Published on: February 8, 2026 6:07 PM

An International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation is set to arrive in Pakistan within hours to address tensions following the country’s decision to boycott its T20 World Cup match against India. The visit aims to open constructive dialogue with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and explore potential resolutions.

The ICC delegation includes the vice chairman, who has been specifically tasked with initiating discussions with the PCB chairman. Meetings in Lahore are expected to focus on persuading Pakistan to reconsider its decision while maintaining diplomatic cricketing relations.

Sources revealed that the vice chairman will engage directly with PCB officials to discuss all aspects of the suspended Pakistan-India fixture. The delegation will assess possible options to resume the match while ensuring fairness and compliance with ICC protocols.

In addition to ICC representatives, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Ameen Islam has arrived in Lahore. He is expected to attend an emergency PCB meeting alongside the ICC delegation, contributing to discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing standoff between the boards.
