Published on: February 10, 2026 3:30 PM

The BCCI welcomed confirmation of the high-profile Pakistan–India clash in the T20 World Cup 2026. The match is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo and had faced uncertainty. Officials said the confirmation brought relief to fans and organisers alike.

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla thanked the ICC for its role in facilitating the agreement. He termed the outcome of negotiations a major success for international cricket. He said the decision showed that dialogue can resolve long-standing issues.

Shukla said ICC officials, under the chairman’s supervision, visited Lahore for detailed discussions. They met representatives of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The talks aimed to prioritise cricket while addressing operational and political concerns.

He said all parties reached an acceptable and amicable solution after sustained engagement. Shukla added that the ICC played a decisive role in bringing Pakistan back to the table. He also noted that Bangladesh’s concerns were largely resolved during the process.
