
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Indonesia’s Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani met in Islamabad on Tuesday to reaffirm trade and investment as key pillars of bilateral cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan-Indonesia economic ties and exploring mutually beneficial projects.
Roeslani, also CEO of Indonesia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Danantara, arrived in Islamabad on Monday evening. During discussions at the Foreign Ministry, both leaders reviewed collaboration opportunities, exchanged views on sovereign wealth fund models, and highlighted priority sectors such as health.

Delegation-level talks included presentations from the Finance Ministry, Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), and Board of Investment (BoI). Presentations outlined Pakistan’s investment landscape, facilitation mechanisms, and opportunities for Indonesia’s expertise in downstream investment and fund structures.

Dar emphasized the shared commitment to longstanding bilateral relations based on mutual respect, stating that joint investment acts as a catalyst for deeper Pakistan-Indonesia partnership. Officials attending included SIFC National Coordinator Lt Gen Sarfraz Ahmed, Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, and senior finance and foreign ministry representatives.

The visit follows robust exchanges between Islamabad and Jakarta in recent months, including visits by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and other senior ministers. Earlier agreements include an Indonesia-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee to enhance trade dialogue, cooperation, and sectoral development.
