
Lahore Traffic Police achieved its annual enforcement target within two and a half months. Strict implementation of amended Motor Vehicle Ordinance laws led to record revenue collection. Motorists, government departments, and underage drivers across Punjab are directly affected.
According to officials, authorities collected Rs12.55 billion during the short period. Police issued 3.495 million challans for traffic violations across Lahore and Punjab. Citizens received fines worth Rs6.27 billion for breaching traffic laws.
Meanwhile, authorities renewed and issued 4.575 million driving licenses, generating over Rs6.27 billion in revenue. Officials said improved digital systems and strict monitoring boosted compliance and administrative efficiency. The revenue significantly strengthened provincial enforcement capacity.
In addition, police impounded 707,000 vehicles and motorcycles for serious violations. Accountability measures included challans for 2,007 police vehicles and impoundment of 575 police personnel vehicles. Authorities also fined 1,125 vehicles from other government departments and impounded 783 vehicles.
Furthermore, officials reported an 87 percent reduction in underage driving due to targeted crackdowns. The detailed performance report has been submitted to Punjab’s Chief Minister. Authorities said strict enforcement aims to protect lives and ensure discipline on roads.
