Tariq Fazal Chaudhry defends treatment of Imran Khan

Published on: February 13, 2026 6:00 PM

Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said politicizing PTI founder Imran Khan’s health is criminal. The government ensures every possible treatment. This issue affects Khan, jail authorities, and political leaders nationwide.

Chaudhry emphasized that PTI founder receives care under strict government and prison supervision. Officials arranged treatment at PIMS hospital following expert advice. A super-specialist also prepared a detailed health report on Khan’s condition.

He added there is no personal enmity between government officials and Khan. Differences are strictly political, and PTI politicized them unnecessarily. Officials stressed that neglecting any prisoner’s health is the authorities’ responsibility.

The minister said the Chief Justice of Pakistan is personally monitoring Khan’s case. If needed, specialized eye examinations will be conducted. Top eye doctors are scheduled to assess and treat Khan promptly.

Chaudhry warned that spreading distorted facts about Khan’s health is criminal negligence. While parliamentarians may protest, the case should not be used for political gain. Officials will continue treatment as required and maintain transparency.
