No surgery for Salim Khan after minimal brain haemorrhage, confirms doctor

Veteran Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan is in stable condition after being admitted to Lilavati Hospital for a minor brain haemorrhage, hospital officials confirmed on Thursday. Doctors have assured that the 86-year-old writer, father of superstar Salman Khan, does not require surgery and is under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to Dr Jalil Parkar, who oversaw the treatment, “There was no surgery performed. It was a routine procedure. He had a very minimal brain haemorrhage, which did not require any surgical intervention.” A team of specialists, including neurologist Dr Vinay Chavan, cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon, and neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, attended to Salim Khan following his admission.

Salim Khan was brought to the hospital by his family doctor in the morning and shifted to the ICU for monitoring. Several family members, including Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and his wife Shura Khan, daughters Alvira and Arpita, and Salma Khan, visited him during the day. Bollywood veteran Helen and screenwriter Javed Akhtar also paid their respects, highlighting the widespread concern for the iconic writer.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai expressed his heartfelt wishes for Salim Khan’s recovery in an interview with ANI, describing him as a respected figure in the industry for over three decades. “Sirf main nahi, poori industry unki izzat karti hai aur unke liye prarthana karti hai ki unki sehat achhi rahe aur unki dirghayu ho,” Ghai said, praising Salim Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema.

Salim Khan, known for penning iconic Bollywood scripts and being part of one of the industry’s most celebrated families, is receiving constant care at the hospital. Fans and industry peers alike have sent messages of support, hoping for his swift recovery.

With doctors confirming his stable condition and no need for surgical intervention, Salim Khan’s family remains optimistic as he continues to recover under professional supervision.
