Pakistan urges diplomacy after Iran strikes

Published on: February 28, 2026 8:58 PM

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned attacks on Iran during a call with Abbas Araghchi. He termed the strikes unwarranted and urged immediate diplomatic efforts. The escalation affects regional stability and Pakistani nationals in Iran.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, both leaders reviewed the evolving situation in Iran and the wider region. Dar called for an urgent resumption of diplomacy to achieve a peaceful resolution. He stressed that dialogue remains the only viable path forward. The statement followed US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory. Tehran later responded with missile launches toward regional targets.
