Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided not to attend the high-level briefing on the regional situation scheduled at the Prime Minister House following recent US-Israel attacks on Iran. The decision came after a meeting of the party’s political committee in Islamabad, where members reviewed the domestic political climate and fast-changing regional developments. Leaders said they issued a formal communiqué outlining their stance. The boycott signals deepening political divisions at a sensitive moment.
During the meeting, the committee strongly condemned what it described as aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, calling it a clear violation of international law. Members expressed sorrow over reported civilian casualties, including more than 160 female students who allegedly lost their lives in the attacks. The party also offered prayers for Ali Khamenei and others who died during related protests. Leaders urged restraint and respect for international norms.

Furthermore, the committee criticized what it called state violence and the use of lethal force against peaceful protesters, demanding a transparent and independent investigation. Members also voiced concern over the tense situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, warning that instability could spill over into Pakistan. They emphasized the need for national unity and careful diplomatic engagement during this volatile period. However, they maintained that political principles must not be compromised.
The party clarified that it will only consider attending the Prime Minister House briefing after authorities arrange a meeting with Imran Khan. Leaders stressed that access to the party founder remains their primary condition for participation in official consultations. They described the demand as a matter of constitutional rights and political fairness. Without this assurance, they said, attendance would not serve meaningful dialogue.

In addition, PTI reiterated its call for judicial supremacy and protection of all constitutional rights of Imran Khan. The statement urged authorities to facilitate meetings between him, his family, and legal counsel without delay. It also demanded his prompt transfer to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment under the supervision of personal doctors and family members. The party framed these demands as humanitarian and legally justified.
