PM Shehbaz conveyed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, noting the country’s long-standing support for Pakistan and underscoring the importance of regional stability and peace. “The Prime Minister assured His Royal Highness that Pakistan would always stand firmly with the Kingdom and work toward shared regional harmony,” the PM’s media office said.
The two sides held detailed discussions on evolving regional developments and agreed to maintain close coordination in efforts to ensure peace and stability. The visit follows prior engagements, including a meeting between CDF Field Marshal Munir and Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, where Iranian attacks on Saudi targets were discussed under the framework of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) signed in September 2025.
The SMDA treats any attack on either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia as an act of aggression against both nations, reinforcing their joint security cooperation.

Amid rising tensions, Saudi Arabia intercepted multiple drone attacks targeting the Shaybah oil field, crucial for global energy supply, while Iran continues to target US and Gulf bases, including in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The conflict has disrupted regional stability and caused oil prices to surge, with warnings that prices could reach $200 per barrel.
Following the meeting, PM Shehbaz returned to Pakistan, reiterating the country’s commitment to close diplomatic and strategic cooperation with Saudi Arabia during this critical period.
