Early morning rain brings cooler weather across Lahore, Punjab

Published on: March 15, 2026 12:51 PM

Early morning rainfall in Lahore lowered temperatures and brought a noticeable chill to the provincial capital, while light to moderate showers were also reported in several cities across Punjab. The rain refreshed the atmosphere and created pleasant weather conditions after recent warm days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, intermittent showers are expected to continue in Lahore and other parts of Punjab throughout the day. Weather officials said the rainfall is part of a broader weather system affecting multiple districts across the province.

Several areas of Lahore experienced heavy early morning rain, including Shimla Pahari, The Mall, Davis Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Civil Secretariat, Sanda Road, and Chauburji. Residents in these neighborhoods reported steady rainfall that continued for some time and significantly cooled the city’s morning temperature.

The meteorological department stated that Lahore’s minimum temperature today is expected to remain around 15°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 25°C. Meanwhile, humidity levels have climbed to approximately 67 percent, with cool winds blowing at a speed of nearly 11 kilometers per hour.

In addition to Lahore, rainfall was also recorded in several other cities including Hasilpur, Sargodha, Bahawalnagar, Arifwala, Dunyapur, Sangla Hill, Minchinabad, Faisalabad, and Kasur. The showers made the weather cooler and more comfortable for residents across many parts of the province.

However, the rainfall also caused disruptions in electricity supply in multiple areas after several power feeders tripped. As a result, many neighborhoods experienced temporary outages, creating difficulties for residents until utility teams began restoration work.
