PM Shehbaz calls Iranian president, expresses solidarity

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian over the phone on Monday. He expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and condolences over the loss of lives. The call highlights Pakistan’s support for peace and stability in the region.

During the conversation, the prime minister extended Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz greetings to the Iranian president and people. In response, President Pezeshkian warmly acknowledged the gesture and conveyed good wishes for the people of Pakistan. Both leaders emphasized mutual respect and brotherly ties.

Moreover, Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives amid ongoing tensions. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and affected individuals. Pakistan reaffirmed its support for the Iranian people during this difficult time.

The prime minister voiced serious concern over the worsening situation in the Gulf region. He stressed the urgent need for de-escalation through dialogue and diplomacy. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of unity among the Muslim Ummah.

Sharif also briefed the Iranian president on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to ease tensions. He reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue playing a constructive role for regional peace. Officials believe such engagements are crucial in preventing further escalation.
