This season marks a significant expansion of the league from six to eight teams, with the addition of Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz. Matches will be played across Lahore and Karachi under revised logistical arrangements.

Led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Qalandars enter the tournament as one of the strongest sides, having won three of the last four titles. Their formidable pace attack includes Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mustafizur Rahman, while their batting line-up is anchored by Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique. All-rounder Sikandar Raza adds further balance to the squad.

The Kingsmen, owned by Fawad Sarwar, enter the competition with a star-studded squad led by Marnus Labuschagne. Their line-up includes Glenn Maxwell, Kusal Perera, and record signing Saim Ayub. However, their pace attack appears relatively thin following the withdrawal of Ottneil Baartman.

The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium is expected to favour batting, with some assistance for pacers early on and spinners later. Weather conditions are forecast to remain clear, offering ideal playing conditions.

In a notable shift, all matches this season will be played behind closed doors due to government austerity measures, as confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Organisers have pledged enhanced broadcast coverage to maintain fan engagement.
