Qalandars crush Kingsmen with 69-run win

Lahore Qalandars defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by 69 runs in the opening match of Pakistan Super League Season 11. The victory sets an early tone in the tournament and boosts Lahore’s campaign. Fans, players, and franchises are directly impacted as the season begins with high expectations.

Lahore Qalandars chose to bat first after winning the toss at Gaddafi Stadium. They posted 199 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman led the innings with 53 runs off 39 balls. He struck 10 boundaries and anchored the top order effectively.

Meanwhile, Haseebullah Khan remained unbeaten on 40 runs, adding valuable late momentum. Muhammad Naeem also contributed 30 runs in a steady partnership. Their combined effort ensured a competitive total on a batting-friendly pitch.

In response, Hyderabad Kingsmen struggled to chase the 200-run target. They were bowled out for 130 runs on the final delivery. Captain Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 26 runs but lacked support. The batting lineup failed to build partnerships under pressure.

Lahore’s bowlers dominated the chase with disciplined performances. Haris Rauf, Sikandar Raza, and Ubaid Shah took two wickets each. The match also featured appearances by Mohsin Naqvi and Maryam Nawaz, while Wasim Akram presented the tournament trophy before the match.
