Three arrested in Rs 2.9m petrol pump robbery in Keamari

Published on: March 27, 2026 1:31 AM

Keamari Police have arrested three suspects involved in Rs. 2.9 million robbery at a petrol pump in the Sher Shah area, officials said on Thursday.

According to a spokesperson for Keamari Police, the incident occurred on March 11, 2026, when five armed men looted cash from a cashier at a PSO petrol pump and fled the scene.

Special teams were constituted for the arrest of the culprits, and using technical resources, police from Mauripur Police Station apprehended three armed suspects involved in the crime.

The arrested accused were identified as Sharafat, Bashir and Yaseen. Police recovered Rs500,000 in cash, three illegal pistols with ammunition, two motorcycles used in the robbery, and a new motorcycle allegedly purchased from the looted amount.

Police said Sharafat was a former employee of the petrol pump and had planned the robbery in collusion with his accomplices.

Bashir was stated to be a dismissed Sindh Police official and had previously been involved in a Rs9.2 million robbery registered at Gadap Police Station.

The third suspect, Yaseen, had a criminal record and had previously been arrested in more than 10 cases of theft, robbery, street crime and illegal weapons possession.

The CCTV footage of the incident had also surfaced on social media.

Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining absconding suspects, while further investigation is in progress and legal proceedings are being carried out.
