Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the cast and crew of her latest film, Aag Lagay Basti Mein, which continues to enjoy success at the box office since its Eidul Fitr release. She began by thanking writer-director Bilal Atif Khan, recalling how she initially doubted her ability to do justice to the role. “I was listening with my eyes wide open, laughing while he narrated it. And then I told him I can’t do this, no one will believe it or want to believe it,” Mahira wrote. She expressed pride in the debutant filmmaker, adding, “I think I may have cried like your ama did for you.”

Mahira also recognized her long-time stylist Babar Zaheer, for giving her character a raw yet beautiful look, and her manager Anushay Khan, for her trust and confidence. Art director Hira M Saad, director of photography Abid Rizvi, and creative director Salman Noorani were also thanked, with special mention of the film’s heist scene.

She acknowledged all actors collectively, highlighting Tabish Hashmi and Javed Sheikh, and praised co-producer Dr. Ali Kazmi and all assistant directors, technicians, spot boys, drivers, wardrobe assistants, and guards for their behind-the-scenes efforts.

The final tribute went to co-star and producer Fahad Mustafa, whom she thanked for “having the guts to make this film,” “a heart big enough to give space for everyone to shine,” and “being a co-actor who elevates everyone around them.”

Mahira also thanked audiences for making the film a commercial success. Aag Lagay Basti Mein continues to play in cinemas across Pakistan and internationally in the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The movie follows Barkat (Mustafa) and Almas (Mahira), whose dreams of luxury lead them into a chaotic and comedic heist, revealing that bigger surprises await them.
