German chancellor praises Shehbaz’s diplomacy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on April 9. The call matters as it highlights international recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. Both leaders discussed regional peace and ongoing conflicts affecting the Middle East.

During the warm and friendly conversation, Chancellor Merz praised Prime Minister Shehbaz for Pakistan’s active mediation and diplomatic engagement. He acknowledged Islamabad’s sincere efforts to facilitate peace negotiations. Shehbaz expressed gratitude for Germany’s support and recognition of Pakistan’s role.

Additionally, they expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Lebanon. Both leaders stressed the need for dialogue and negotiations to restore stability and peace. They hoped that diplomatic solutions would help ease tensions across the entire region.
