Daanish School students clinch top three positions in Grade 8 exams

Published on: April 10, 2026 2:30 AM

In the Grade 8 examinations conducted under PECTAA throughout Punjab, the top three positions were secured by students of Daanish Schools. Iqra Khan from Daanish School Mianwali (Girls) achieved first position with 364 marks. Romaisa Iman from Daanish School Attock (Girls) secured second position with 358.5 marks, while Fatima Bibi from Daanish School Hasilpur (Girls) obtained third position with 358 marks throughout Punjab.

88% clear Class 8 exams in Punjab

Provincial Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat on Thursday said that the Class 8 results in Punjab had been announced with an overall pass percentage of 88 per cent, as he inaugurated the online results portal.

Students of public schools can check their results on the official portal (pectaa.edu.pk), while around one million students appeared in the examination.

The minister congratulated successful students and the PECTA team, stating that the results were prepared within a record period of 30 days. He appreciated the team’s efforts, noting that for the first time in Pakistan, machine marking was introduced through modern technology. He said transparency in paper checking was ensured with the use of artificial intelligence, adding that similar machine marking would also be implemented in matriculation and intermediate examinations.

Rana Sikandar further said that Class 8 board-style examinations had been revived in the province after a long time to better assess students’ performance. QR codes were also printed on examination papers to ensure transparency.

He also announced an honorarium for the assessment team, while the chief minister Punjab, in a social media message, congratulated the successful students.
