Erdogan urges diplomacy as justice system fails

Published on: April 17, 2026 9:45 PM

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said the global justice system has failed and called for diplomacy as the only solution to international crises. He made the remarks during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The statement comes amid ongoing global conflicts and rising tensions.

Erdogan said international institutions have failed to prevent violence in conflict zones. He pointed to continued suffering in Gaza despite ceasefire efforts. Moreover, he warned that reliance on force will worsen instability.

He stressed that diplomacy must replace military action in resolving disputes. Erdogan said no conflict can be solved through weapons. Additionally, he called for stronger global cooperation to prevent escalation.

He also praised diplomatic efforts that helped ease regional tensions, including Pakistan’s role. Shehbaz Sharif was acknowledged for supporting ceasefire initiatives. Furthermore, he said such efforts should be expanded for lasting peace.

Analysts say the remarks reflect Turkey’s push for stronger diplomatic engagement globally. However, they note that ongoing wars continue to challenge international peace efforts. The forum is expected to focus on conflict resolution and cooperation.
