The negotiations with Pakistan on CPEC Phase 2, water storage technology and new energy projects have entered the final stages. The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Karachi, H.E. Yang Yandong, announced strategic projects with Pakistan.
While addressing the seminar titled “Balochistan Driving Pakistan’s Economic Future” held at Chinese Consulate Karachi, under the auspices of the Balochistan Board of Investment & Trade (BBoIT), in collaboration with the Chinese Consulate Karachi, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), and the Pakistan China Economic Cooperation Council (PCECC). the Consul General said, China has strong support for Pakistan’s mediation between Iran and the US. Pakistan and China will soon sign several important strategic agreements, which will lead to sustainable economic development in Balochistan.
The Chief Guest of the event, Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, highlighted the vast investment opportunities in Balochistan during his address. He said that the provincial government is committed to providing all possible facilitation to investors to accelerate the economic development of the province.
On the occasion, President of the Pakistan China Economic Cooperation Council (PCECC), Bayazeed Kasi, emphasized the need to further strengthen the strong economic relations between Pakistan and China.
Vice Chairman of Balochistan Board of Investment & Trade (BBoIT), Bilal Khan Kakar, described Balochistan as the next major hub for industrial growth and investment. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan is undergoing transformation, and investors are being provided with every possible facility. He further stressed the importance of strengthening linkages between trade institutions of Pakistan and China, saying this would open new doors of investment in Balochistan.
Chairman Policy Advisory Board of FPCCI Mian Zahid Hussain, Patron-in-Chief S. M. Tanveer, Vice President of PCECC Mir Muhammad Umeed Baloch, and Secretary General Roy Luo shared their views and emphasized the need to further promote Pakistan-China economic cooperation and explore new investment opportunities in Balochistan. They stated that foreign investment can play a key role in inclusive economic development and the promotion of bilateral trade relations.
Wajid Habib of BBoIT presented a detailed overview of investment opportunities in Balochistan, highlighting potential in minerals, energy, infrastructure, and trade facilitation sectors. Informative documentaries showcasing Balochistan’s natural beauty, Business Facilitation Center, and mineral resources were also presented.
The seminar was attended by Member of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, former Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Alauddin Marri, President Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haji Ayub Mariani, along with a large number of government officials, diplomats, investors, and business personalities.
The event was considered an important step toward positioning Balochistan as a key destination for international investment and economic cooperation.
