Earlier in the competition, Peshawar Zalmi delivered a dominant performance in Sunday’s fixture, largely driven by a remarkable century from captain Babar Azam that anchored the team’s powerful batting display. Zalmi posted an impressive total of 255 runs after Babar remained unbeaten on 100 from just 52 deliveries. Additionally, Kusal Mendis played a vital supporting role by scoring 83 runs from 44 balls. Their partnership helped establish a commanding total that placed immense pressure on the opposition.
However, Quetta Gladiators struggled while chasing the massive target of 256 and were eventually bowled out for 137 runs after losing wickets at regular intervals throughout the innings. Mohammad Basit and Ali Raza led the bowling attack effectively, each claiming three wickets to dismantle Quetta’s batting order. Shamyl Hussain scored 21 runs while Bevon Jacob added 34, but their efforts were not enough to challenge Zalmi’s total. Meanwhile, the tournament observes a rest day on Monday before action resumes with fresh fixtures.
