JD Vance, Vice President of the United States, is scheduled to depart from Washington, D.C. for Pakistan today (Tuesday), according to diplomatic sources. His visit comes at a time of increased regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic engagement.

Sources said Vance will leave Washington at approximately 2:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time. He is expected to make a brief stop in a third country for refueling before continuing his journey to Pakistan. While official details regarding the purpose of the visit have not been fully disclosed, it is being seen as important in light of current geopolitical developments.

Security has been significantly tightened in Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of his arrival. Law enforcement agencies, including police, Rangers, and Frontier Corps personnel, have been deployed at key locations. Multiple checkpoints have been established, and strict checking is underway, while routes leading to the Red Zone have been sealed.

Authorities have also suspended the metro bus service between the twin cities, and several educational institutions have shifted to online classes until next week as a precautionary measure.

The visit coincides with preparations for a possible second round of talks between the United States and Iran. Recently, Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran on April 7, though its exact end date remains unclear.

Trump has expressed optimism about reaching a new nuclear agreement, potentially replacing the 2015 deal negotiated under Barack Obama, but details remain uncertain.
