The United States has imposed a new round of sanctions targeting individuals and companies accused of helping Iran obtain weapons and military components. The measures, announced by the United States Department of the Treasury, aim to disrupt supply networks that Washington says assist Tehran in rebuilding its missile capabilities following recent regional conflicts.
According to US officials, the sanctions affect 14 people and companies allegedly involved in procuring or transporting weapons and related components for Iran. The restrictions also include aircraft believed to be used in the logistics chain, highlighting what authorities describe as a coordinated international network supporting Iran’s defense programs.

The targeted entities are located across several countries, including Iran, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Washington claims these individuals and organizations played a role in facilitating shipments of sensitive equipment and materials that could strengthen Iran’s ballistic missile stockpiles.
US officials said the move comes at a time when Iran is attempting to restore parts of its missile arsenal following military strikes linked to the recent confrontation involving the United States and Israel. Washington argues that restricting supply channels is necessary to prevent further escalation and limit Iran’s military capabilities.

Meanwhile, diplomatic tensions remain high as both countries remain locked in a dispute over whether to begin another round of negotiations aimed at reducing regional hostilities. Talks are expected to focus on preventing disruptions in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz and finding a path toward de-escalation after weeks of conflict.
Analysts say the new sanctions could complicate already fragile diplomatic efforts, as economic pressure often increases mistrust between negotiating parties. However, US officials insist that maintaining pressure while pursuing dialogue is necessary to encourage meaningful concessions during future negotiations.
