Tareen links country’s future to students

Published on: April 24, 2026 2:37 AM

Jahangir Khan Tareen inaugurated a modern computer lab at Government Graduate College Model Town, Lahore. The computer lab, established by Tareen Education Foundation, aims to equip students with modern technological skills and promote access to quality education.

Addressing the ceremony, Jahangir Khan Tareen emphasized the importance of IT education, stating:

“Progress is not possible in today’s world without IT education and it is surprising that many of our students are still deprived of basic facilities like computer labs.” He said that the academic development and empowerment of students can strengthen the entire nation. “Our students are our future and providing them with modern education can ensure a bright future for Pakistan.” He further stressed that equal opportunities in education are essential and facilities available to privileged segments of society must also be extended to students from underprivileged and middle-income backgrounds, as true progress is only possible through equal access. Jahangir Khan Tareen also announced that among the computer labs established in Lahore, the top three high-performing students will be awarded prizes. Encouraging students, he advised them to aim high, adding that a strong youth leads to a strong Pakistan. He also visited the computer lab and interacted with students.

The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Rafiq (Group Director Finance, JDW), Ansar Azhar (DPI Colleges Punjab), Ahsan Mukhtar (Director Colleges Punjab), Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali (Principal, Government Graduate College Model Town Lahore), and Akbar Khan (Chief Executive Officer, Tareen Education Foundation), along with other distinguished participants. Group Director Finance Muhammad Rafiq, in his remarks, appreciated Jahangir Khan Tareen’s contributions to social development. He stated that he has been associated with Tareen’s group since 1991 and has learned a great deal from his leadership. He further shared that projects including the Tareen Institute for Computer Education and Resources (TICER), costing PKR 2.5 billion, and Amina Girls Degree College are under development in Lodhran, with a combined investment of approximately PKR 3.5 billion.

Chief Executive Officer of Tareen Education Foundation, Akbar Khan said that the foundation has been working since 2010 to provide quality education and continues to deliver modern educational facilities through various initiatives. DPI Colleges Punjab, Ansar Azhar, expressed gratitude to Jahangir Khan Tareen for utilizing his personal resources for the betterment of students, stating that such initiatives play a vital role in improving the education system.
