Believe it… your “Apna ghar” is no longer just a dream!

Published on: May 2, 2026 11:30 AM

The dream that for years was buried under rented houses, rising inflation, and an uncertain future is now close to becoming reality. The Government of Pakistan has taken a step that can change the lives of millions of families. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has formally launched the “Prime Minister Apna Ghar Program,” turning the dream of affordable housing into reality. This is not just a scheme, but a strong step toward a dignified and secure life for ordinary citizens.

What is this program?

This program has been launched under the Federal Ministry of Housing and Works. Its aim is to provide housing facilities on easy and transparent terms to those Pakistani citizens who have been waiting for their own home for years.

Who can apply?

If you are buying a house for the first time, have a valid national identity card, and do not currently or previously own any residential property, then this scheme is specifically for you.

Loan duration and amount

Under this program, housing loans are available for up to 20 years. The financing limit is set at up to 10 million rupees. The biggest benefit is that for the first 10 years, only a 5% subsidized markup will be charged, while for the next 10 years, market rates will apply. This makes the scheme highly affordable for ordinary citizens.

What can you purchase with this loan?

With this financing, you can:

  • Buy a 10-marla plot and build a house
  • Purchase a ready-built 10-marla house
  • Acquire an apartment of up to 1,500 square feet

Financing details

90% of the amount will be provided by banks, while only a 10% down payment is required from the applicant. The loan will be offered through commercial banks, Islamic banks, and the House Building Finance Company. Importantly, there will be no processing fee and no penalty for early repayment.

How to apply?

The application process is simple:

  1. Apply online at apnaghar.gov.pk
  2. Or submit your application at any authorized bank branch

Banks will:

  • Review your application within one month
  • Provide in-principle approval
  • Disburse the loan after document completion

Monthly installment examples

  • Rs 25 lakh: approx. Rs 16,499 per month
  • Rs 50 lakh: approx. Rs 32,997 per month
  • Rs 75 lakh: approx. Rs 49,497 per month
  • Rs 1 crore: approx. Rs 65,996 per month

Now the decision is in your hands.
This opportunity will not wait. Take action today, get information, apply, and turn your dream of a home into reality.
