Queen Camilla attends Badminton Horse Trials with youth riders

Queen Camilla visited the Badminton Horse Trials in the Gloucestershire countryside, where she took part in official events and engaged closely with young riders and equestrian volunteers. Her appearance marked a notable moment at the 2026 edition of the prestigious horse riding competition.

During the event, the Queen attended a medal presentation ceremony and later spent time with members of the Ebony Horse Club, where she serves as president. Moreover, she supported the organisation’s 30th anniversary celebrations, highlighting its long-term work in helping disadvantaged young people through riding and education programmes.

Camilla presented rosettes to four young riders and their ponies after they performed a musical riding display set to London Calling by The Clash. Additionally, she applauded their performance and interacted warmly with participants who demonstrated their skills in front of the audience.

The Queen also showed interest in modern training methods when she observed a horse simulator used by a teenager to build riding confidence. Furthermore, she discussed developments in equestrian training technology and praised efforts aimed at making horse riding more accessible and safer for learners.

Later, Queen Camilla met several well-known figures in the equestrian world, including six-time Badminton winner Lucinda Green and broadcaster Clare Balding. In addition, she exchanged greetings with her former husband Andrew Parker Bowles during a reception, drawing attention during the public appearance.

Reflecting on her long association with the Ebony Horse Club, the Queen expressed admiration for its impact on young lives over the past three decades. She reiterated her continued support for the organisation, emphasizing its role in promoting confidence, discipline, and opportunity through equestrian education.
