NAB freezes Bahria Town Karachi properties, land

Published on: May 13, 2026 9:07 AM

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has frozen a luxury mansion allegedly linked to property tycoon, Malik Riaz Hussain, and thousands of acres of land connected with Bahria Town Karachi in a series of actions pertaining to alleged illegal occupation and purchase of government land.

According to NAB Karachi officials, the bureau froze a mansion known as “Ali Villa”, allegedly constructed for the personal residential use of Malik Riaz Hussain in the name of his son Ali Riaz Malik at Bahria Hills in Bahria Town Karachi.

The statement said the property spreads over 67 acres and includes facilities such as a helipad, mini zoo and swimming pools.

NAB further stated that in two separate inquiries it had also frozen 1,338 acres of land allegedly usurped by Bahria Town Karachi, where projects including Bahria Greens and precincts 33, 34, 38 to 40, 42 and 61 were planned. The bureau alleged that the land belonged to the Government of Sindh.

The anti-graft body also froze 3,150 acres of land related to Bahria Town 2, which it alleged had been fraudulently purchased by M/s Paradise Real Estate (Pvt) Limited through a separate order issued by the Director General NAB Karachi.

The relevant authorities have been directed to prevent Bahria Town Karachi from creating any third-party rights over the frozen properties and land.

NAB officials said the Bureau had already filed Reference No. 1/2025 before an accountability court in Karachi over allegations of illegal conversion and misappropriation of 17,672 acres of government land in Malir district, valued at Rs. 708 billion, allegedly in collusion with officials of the Government of Sindh. The Bureau alleged that Bahria Town Karachi had been constructed adjacent to the M-9 Motorway in violation of the law.
