IG visits homes of martyred cops, vows support for families

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem visited the residences of martyred Constable Fayyaz Ali and martyred Constable Umar Aftab in Gujrat and met with the parents, children, and other family members of the martyrs. Regional Police Officer Gujranwala Khurram Shahzad Haider, District Police Officer Gujrat Akhtar Farooq, and other senior officers were also accompanying him on the occasion.

IG Punjab offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, offered Fateha, and expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families. Showing affection to the children of the martyrs, he assured the families that Punjab Police would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs.

Abdul Kareem said that the martyrs of Punjab Police, who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the life and properties of the public and for the establishment of peace and order, are the pride of Punjab Police. He said that the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs would never be allowed to go in vain and that full care would be taken of the welfare of their families. IG Punjab further said that every possible assistance would be provided for the education, upbringing, and bright future of the children of the martyrs.

Punjab Police spokesperson said that Constable Fayyaz Ali and Constable Umar Aftab embraced martyrdom during duty as a result of firing by suspects. The bereaved family of martyred Constable Fayyaz Ali includes his wife, one son, and two daughters, while the family of martyred Constable Umar Aftab includes his parents and five sisters.
