IGP directs police officials to eliminate crimes from Faisalabad

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem visited Faisalabad. Upon his arrival at Police Lines Faisalabad, RPO Faisalabad Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, CPO Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain, and other senior officers warmly received him. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honor at Police Lines. IG Punjab also visited the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.

Later, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem addressed a general meeting held at Police Lines Faisalabad. The meeting was attended by District Police Officers including DPO Jhang Sajid Hussain, DPO Toba Tek Singh Ikhlaq Ullah Tarrar, DPO Chiniot Dr. Atif Naveed, CTO Nasir Rana, SSP Patrolling Mirza Anjum Kamal, divisional SPs, and senior officers of CTD.

Addressing the gathering, IG Punjab said that in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical measures are being taken to transform Punjab into a safe and crime-free province. He said that the police force is actively working to improve crime prevention, traffic management, and the delivery of justice to citizens.

IG Punjab directed police officers to ensure strict implementation of the zero-tolerance policy regarding crimes against women and children in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He emphasized that officers must perform their duties efficiently while ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property.

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem also distributed commendation certificates and cash rewards among police officers of Faisalabad Region who demonstrated outstanding performance.

Later, IG Punjab Abdul Kareem visited Safe City Faisalabad. SSP Safe City Fawad Ahmad briefed the IG Punjab on modern cameras, the Command and Control Center, and the advanced monitoring system. While reviewing CCTV monitoring and the response system from the Safe City Command and Control Room, IG Punjab said that the Safe City Project is playing a vital role in protecting the lives and properties of citizens.

He directed officers to make full use of the Safe City Project and further improve the monitoring system by ensuring the use of modern technology to provide citizens with a safer and better environment. He said that the operationalization of Safe City Faisalabad has resulted in a significant reduction in heinous crimes, which has further strengthened public confidence in the police.

He further said that under the leadership of RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, the joint efforts of police and the public in Faisalabad Region have ensured effective action against narcotics.

He added that under the special initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, practical welfare measures are also being implemented for police officers and personnel.
