Pakistan Coach Explains Mohammad Rizwan’s Removal From T20 Squad

Pakistan cricket team head coach Mike Hesson has explained the reasons behind dropping Mohammad Rizwan from the T20 squad. Speaking at a press conference in Rawalpindi, Hesson said Rizwan was already out of the T20 setup before he joined the team management. Furthermore, he stated that Rizwan was also not leading the side when he took over coaching duties.

During the media briefing, Hesson clarified that the decision was part of a broader strategy for the national side. He explained that team management wanted to build a stronger combination for future tournaments. In addition, he stressed that selection decisions are based on the overall needs of the squad rather than individual reputations.

Hesson revealed that the management started reconsidering Rizwan’s leadership after the ODI series against the West Indies. According to him, the team was not producing the desired results under Rizwan’s captaincy. Therefore, officials believed it was the right time to make changes in leadership and explore different combinations before major international events.

The Pakistan coach also emphasized that cricket teams succeed through collective performance. He said the selectors are focusing on creating a balanced and competitive squad capable of adapting to modern T20 cricket. Moreover, he noted that management must continue evaluating players to prepare the best possible lineup for the upcoming World Cup next year.

Hesson added that Rizwan’s removal also carried an important message for other players in the squad. He explained that every player must continue improving to secure a place in the national team. Meanwhile, he praised the growing confidence within the squad and said players have shown noticeable improvement over the last year.

In the end, the Pakistan Coach Explains Mohammad Rizwan’s Removal From T20 Squad decision reflects the team management’s long-term planning. Ultimately, Pakistan national cricket team hopes these adjustments will help the side perform better in future international competitions.
