
Iran has claimed that it carried out a retaliatory strike on a US airbase following reported American air attacks near Bandar Abbas port. The announcement has further escalated tensions between Tehran and Washington amid ongoing military and maritime confrontations in the region. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted a US military base allegedly used for launching attacks against Iranian positions. The group warned that any further aggression from the United States would trigger a stronger response. It also stated that responsibility for consequences would lie with the attacking side.

The Revolutionary Guards further claimed they blocked the entry of three vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iranian sources said a US oil tanker was forced to retreat after coming under fire while attempting to pass through the strategic waterway. The tanker reportedly tried to cross with its radar turned off, according to media reports.
On the other hand, international media reported competing claims from US sources stating that American forces had downed three Iranian drones. US officials also said recent strikes targeted Iranian military assets in the Strait of Hormuz area. They added that the operations aimed to protect commercial shipping and US forces operating in the region.
