Chinese CG, Sindh home minister discuss security related issues

Sindh Minister for Home and Law, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, met with the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Karachi, Yang Yundong, where both sides held detailed discussions on bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and security matters.

Sindh Home Minister appreciated Consul General Yang Yundong’s diplomatic services and conveyed his best wishes for him. During the meeting, both leaders also congratulated each other on the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Chinese Consul General thanked the Government of Sindh and the Sindh Home Minister for their continued cooperation and support.

The meeting included a comprehensive review of the security situation of Chinese nationals, experts, engineers, and personnel working on various development projects across Sindh. On the occasion, the Sindh Home Minister stated that the protection of Chinese citizens remains the Government of Sindh’s top priority and that a zero-tolerance policy is being strictly implemented in this regard.

He further said that coordination and information-sharing mechanisms between law enforcement agencies and the Chinese Consulate would be strengthened and made more effective to better address security-related matters.

Sindh Home Minister emphasized that the friendship between Pakistan and China is based on mutual trust, respect, and longstanding cooperation, adding that the Government of Sindh remains committed to further strengthening Pakistan-China relations.

The meeting was also attended by the Vice Consul General of China, the Advocate General Sindh, the Additional Chief Secretary Home, the Inspector General of Police Sindh, the Coordinator to the Sindh Home Minister, and other senior officials.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar presented the Chinese Consul General, Yang Yundong, with traditional Sindhi cultural gifts, including an Ajrak and Sindhi cap.
