The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly considering major changes in its coaching and management structure, with former national team captains expected to be given important responsibilities, according to sources.

Under the proposed reshuffle, former Test captain Younis Khan is likely to be appointed as the head coach of Pakistan’s Test team. Sources also suggest he may be included in the national selection committee as part of a broader effort to restructure team management.

Similarly, former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is being considered for the role of Director of International Cricket within the Pakistan Cricket Board. He may also be given a position in the national selection committee, strengthening his involvement in cricketing decisions at the top level.

The proposed changes come amid reports of further adjustments within the national setup. Sources indicate that Test team coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and captain Shan Masood could be removed from their respective roles as part of the restructuring plan. However, Sarfaraz Ahmed is expected to continue his responsibilities with the Pakistan Shaheens side.

The PCB has not officially confirmed these developments, but discussions are believed to be ongoing as part of a wider review of team performance and long-term planning strategies.

If implemented, the changes would represent a significant shift in Pakistan cricket administration, bringing several former players with international experience into key decision-making positions.

Cricket observers say the move reflects an increasing trend of involving ex-players in management roles, aiming to improve consistency, selection processes, and team performance across formats.

Further announcements from the PCB are expected in the coming days as the restructuring process continues.
