Prince Harry and William’s rift shows no sign of easing

Published on: June 6, 2026 4:27 PM

The long-running estrangement between Prince Harry and Prince William appears far from over, with new reports suggesting that communication between the royal brothers remains virtually non-existent despite efforts to repair their relationship.

According to media reports citing sources close to the situation, Prince Harry has privately hoped for a reconciliation with his older brother. However, insiders claim that Prince William remains firm in his position and has shown little interest in reopening regular contact.

The latest claims suggest that William has changed his personal contact details, leaving Harry without a direct means of communication. Sources further allege that even if the Duke of Sussex were to obtain the new number, a conversation between the brothers remains unlikely under current circumstances.

The relationship between the two princes has been strained for several years following Harry’s departure from royal duties and his move to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle. Since then, a series of interviews, documentaries and public statements have fueled tensions within the royal family.

Reports indicate that Harry and William have not held a meaningful conversation in more than three years. Their last publicly known interaction took place around the time of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

Although both brothers later attended family gatherings, including the funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, reports suggest they did not engage with one another during the event.

The continued distance between the brothers comes as members of the royal family gather for various public and private occasions. Prince Harry is not expected to attend some upcoming family events, further highlighting the ongoing divide.

While there have been reports of improving communication between Harry and his father, King Charles III, no similar breakthrough has been reported regarding his relationship with Prince William.
