China supports Iran diplomacy, praises Pakistan mediation role

Published on: June 7, 2026 3:23 PM

China has expressed strong support for diplomatic engagement in ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel, while also acknowledging Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue. The statement comes at a time when renewed international efforts are underway to encourage negotiations and reduce regional escalation risks.

Chinese diplomatic officials emphasized that disputes involving major powers should be resolved through talks rather than military confrontation. They linked the current tensions to violations of international law and urged all sides to return to peaceful diplomatic channels for long-term stability.

Furthermore, China reiterated its position that dialogue remains the only sustainable path toward resolving complex geopolitical conflicts. It also reaffirmed its support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security amid rising regional pressures and ongoing security concerns.

At the same time, Chinese officials praised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement, noting its role in supporting mediation efforts related to a proposed ceasefire initiative involving Iran and the United States. Iran has also reportedly welcomed Pakistan’s involvement in efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting dialogue.

Meanwhile, Beijing stated that it has no vested regional interests and remains focused on contributing to peace-building initiatives across the region. It stressed that stability and cooperation are essential for long-term development and security, especially in areas affected by ongoing geopolitical disputes.

Additionally, China highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a vital global trade and energy route. It warned that ensuring its security and openness is a global responsibility, not only a regional concern, given its impact on international economic stability.
