
Edinburgh: Five people were injured in suspected anti-Muslim attacks in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, according to British media reports. The incidents took place on Friday evening in the western part of the city.
Police said a 36-year-old white man has been arrested in connection with the attacks. The injured individuals were taken to hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attacks, stating that the accused must face punishment under the law. He emphasized that such incidents are unacceptable in society.
Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney also strongly condemned the violence, saying that there is no place for racism or intolerance in Scotland and that the government is committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens.
Authorities have launched a full investigation to determine the motive behind the attacks.
